Virtual Assistance For Neophytes - Jonadab Cayabyab

What is a Virtual Assistant?

A virtual assistant is a person who provides various services to entrepreneurs or businesses from a remote location. There are lots of things that virtual assistants can do, including social media management, managing calendars, appointments and emails, preparing reports, personal tasks like booking hotels and restaurants, simple digital marketing tasks, and more. In short, you're like a personal secretary working for a client from overseas.

How Does The Program Work?

Before the course starts, we will have a live orientation to welcome everyone and to give tips/reminders about the course. The course is designed as a 1 month program that will help you identify a specific skill or service that you will offer as a virtual assistant. Live classes will be conducted two times per week (Monday and Friday, 6pm-8pm). If you can't join the live classes, you can watch the replay or recording of the live classes on the Teachable platform. I will check your assignments and give recommendations. Students have access to the recorded live classes for 1 year. Assignments need to be completed within 2 months to get a course completion certificate.

ABOUT THE MENTOR

After enrolling in different VA courses, Jonadab got hired as a General Virtual Assistant for a Real Estate school in Florida, USA. Working as a General Virtual Assistant for 2 years has helped him gain administrative, marketing, creative, and management skills.

Having different skill sets has developed him into an all-around VA. But later on, he decided to focus on one skill, web design and is now working as a freelance WordPress Web Designer. With this, he wants to help his fellow brothers and sisters find their specialized skill, and offer premium service to their chosen niche.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are the requirements to qualify for the program?

Ideally:

  • At least 18yrs old. Online job platforms require at least 18yrs old to sign up.
  • Valid ID (passport is highly recommended) for account verification processes.
  • Bank account for online job payment set up.

If you don’t have these requirements and/or if you’re below 18, you can still benefit from the program by learning the skills first. But it would affect your course completion since you won't be able to comply with the required assignments.

Is the course good for newbies without VA background?

This program is specially designed for newbies. You will be coached on how to set up your VA profiles and accounts and will learn the basic skills needed to start working online.

Will you refer me to clients after I finish the course?

NO. The clients would not come from me.

Getting your own client is the result of your hard work. But I will be assisting you if you have questions or if you are having a hard time in getting your first client even after completing the course.

How long will it take to get a client?

It varies. This will be the most realistic answer you can get. Previous VAN students got hired before even finishing the course. But this doesn't happen to everyone. Becoming a Virtual Assistant doesn't happen overnight, so you would need to show constant determination in order for you to get a client. Others get hired after the course, others take months. But as long as you show your determination, you will get your client.

How much will I earn in Virtual Assistance?

You control how much you earn. There are full-time positions, part-time, flexible schedule, or project-based positions. After taking the VA for Neophytes course, you can start charging $5-10 per hour.

What is your recommended internet speed for the course?

At least 3MBPS will do. If you can get something faster, that would be better so you’re more prepared for your actual clients.

I have full-time work/class.

No worries. Our live classes will be recorded so you can watch them and do the assignments on your own pace, anytime and anywhere you are available.

I didn't go to college. Will I still be qualified?

Definitely! Virtual assistance doesn’t discriminate non-college goers. It’s open to everyone as long as you have the determination!

Do I need to be fluent in English?

No you don’t. You only need BASIC English to be a Virtual Assistant

Do I need a laptop/computer? I don't have one.

Using a computer is recommended because you will have application assignments all throughout the course. Some students do their lessons and assignments in internet cafes and computer shops, until they get clients. By then, they will have the money to get their own laptop.

Do I need a headset and a webcam during the course?

You would need a headset or a speaker to listen to our live coaching sessions. I highly recommend the students to turn on their video during live classes so I can interact with them. But if you do not have a webcam, you don't need to buy one just for this course. So if your laptop has a working speaker and a built-in camera you’re all set and ready to start the course. You can also use your phone or tablet in joining the live classes via Zoom.
